Combining Screen Printing & Woodworking
Silk screen printing, or serigraphy, dates back to over 1,000 years ago. Although modern technologies have dramatically increased its accessibility, and useful applications, the original process remains relatively the same.

Each layer (colour) requires a separate screen and stencil to be constructed.
A lot of work is needed before you can see your results.

Each layer is applied one at a time.
Colours can now be blended and layers can be offset. The colour combinations are only limited by the imagination.

Once the last layer is applied, the print is then thoroughly scrutinized. Any needed touchups are typically applied by hand with a brush.
Once finished, it's time to start working on the matte & frame.
Can the frame be part of the art?
Profiles are added to both the inside and outside edges. A rabbit is cut on the underside to hold the matte, and a groove to secure the fabric.
Built to Last
Each corner of your frame is reinforced with two 1/4" dowels before double gluing.

- Solid Hardwood Frame (Basswood)
- Measures approx. 25x39" or 64x100cm
- Reinforced corners (2 dowels/corner)
- Hand sanded & stained
- Custom stained to match print
- Finished in Hardwax (front & Back)
- Bumpers to protect your wall
- Hanging hardware included and installed
- The matte is cut (image) from 1/8" hardboard, and receives 2 coats of primer and 3-4 coats of paint.
